FindlayClassifieds.com

Game development was put on hold as I developed a general-purpose website. FindlayClassifieds.com is a free classifieds website focused on buyers and sellers in Northwest Ohio. Our local newspaper, The Findlay Courier, charges outrageous rates for their classifieds ad: unless you're selling something expensive, you could easily spend more on the ad than you'll make for selling the item. Besides, they review every ad and wield a mighty censorship wand. They wouldn't accept a paid advertisement for my site, presumably because it competed with their classified service. I also know they won't run ads for web design companies because they also provide that service and don't want the competition.

So, I gave myself a two-week deadline to write my classifieds website, which is about the extent of my attention span. As I came up with new features to add, there were times when I didn't think I could meet the deadline, but I managed to do it. And now that the site is live and being indexed in Google, Bing, and Yahoo, and can add new features whenever I feel the urge - without the pressure of time.

Check out the site, and if you have any questions about how it was designed or you would like to know how a certain feature was implemented, start a thread in the forum and I'll let you know.
